There is great debate within the dental community regarding the safety
and biocompatibility of mercury and silver fillings. Some dentists believe
that the mercury in mercury-silver fillings is mixed with silver and is
therefore safe. Other dentists however, believe that mercury-silver fillings
are NOT safe and the filling continues to release mercury vapors.
IAOMT dentists believe that this combination is not safe and that there
is only one safe method to remove the silver mercury fillings from the
mouth. This protocol requires specialized equipment and training. Our
staff is trained in the use of the latest technology equipment to aid
in the treatment of this disease. Biologically compatible materials such
as specific composite (white) filling materials as well as porcelain (Cerec)
indirect restorations are used throughout in order to insure the maximum
in patient-compatible results.
